FLINT HILLS
In my communication career at Wichita State, I've had the opportunity to experiment different aspects in my field. This past summer, I had the opportunity to get out of my shell and learn to shoot photos in the Flint Hills area of Kansas.

During this project, I had the opportunity to visit with ranchers in the Flint Hills area. I spent the morning with them, and followed them on their duties.

in addition to the concert at Symphony in the Flint Hills, attendees had a chance to take a trip back in time. They climbed aboard wagons to see how transportation used to be.

Symphony in the Flint Hills — a sheriff’s duty
As Butler County Sheriff, Thomas Oldenettel spends his days driving around enjoying the Flint Hills prairie. Sometimes cattle are his only encounter. So an assignment like the Symphony in the Flint Hills, where more than 5,000 people gathered in a Butler County pasture, was a fun challenge.
