BIO

Carolina
I am currently a senior at Wichita State University studying communication with an emphasis in journalism. I will be graduating in May of 2019.
I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico in 1996. I grew up there up until I was eight years old. Then in 2004, my family decided to move to the United States. We lived in the Rocky Mountains-Sun Valley Idaho- until the end of my first year in high school. Ever since 2012, I have lived in Wichita and have grown to enjoy living in the Great Plains. Â
As I was growing up, I fell in love with the news. The main networks my family watched was Univision and Telemundo. Every day when I got out of school, I could not wait to get home and watch my favorite show, the news. I grew up admiring news personalities like Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas. I looked up to the work they did by educating the Hispanic community on a daily basis.
After graduation, I am hoping to become a news reporter for a local television station. Throughout my college career, I have had the chance to intern and shadow at the three Wichita TV stations. I have gained admiration and respect towards what multimedia journalists and reporters do on a daily basis. My goal is to become a role model and inspiration for young kids.
